JENKINS COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
The Jenkins County Development Authority (JCDA) is the primary point of contact for economic development projects in Millen & Jenkins County.
JCDA is responsible for the recruitment of new businesses in the areas of industrial, manufacturing, distribution, corporate and regional headquarters, customer service centers, and assistance with other major economic development projects.
The JCDA also focuses on existing industries of Jenkins County to ensure their continued success. While recruitment of new industry is a significant function, aiding in existing industry expansion and retention is just as significant.

Transportation
The community lies strategically between Augusta and Savannah and expects to benefit from the growth of both regional centers.
The county has access to three (3) federal interstates (I-20, I-16 and I-95) via U.S. Highway 25. Currently, the stretch of U.S. 25 linking Jenkins County to Augusta and Savannah is being widened to 4-lanes under the Governor's Road Improvement Program (GRIP). Upon completion, the Savannah River Parkway project will result in 4-lane access between Savannah and Augusta and connect I-16 to I-520.
In addition to surface transportation facilities, Bush Field Regional Airport in nearby Augusta and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport offer daily direct flights to Atlanta, Columbia, Charlotte, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Cincinnati, New York, Newark, and Washington.
Jenkins County also has convenient access to the international Port of Savannah, serviced by over 100 daily motor carriers and the capacity to handle thousands of containers. Other transportation related opportunities include rail service provided by CGR.
Utilities
Millen is serviced by Georgia Power Company and Planters EMC for all electricity needs.
Additionally, the City of Millen provides water, sewage and natural gas services.

Jenkins County's diverse population includes well-educated individuals who are ready to contribute to the development and success of the area's business and industrial enterprises. In conjunction with Swainsboro Tech Technical College, the county offers a Quick Start training which trains employees to be more productive, saving time and expense.
