The end result is a Sheriff's Office that our citizens can be proud to call it's own. We strive, daily, to bring our citizens the best service at the lowest possible cost to taxpayers. We also work hard to improve our service and to keep the respect of the residents of Jenkins County.
The County Jail
We operate the County Jail which provides safety and security of the community by providing a safe, humane, and secure facility to house law violators / prisoners. We strive to maintain an environment which is safe for prisoners and staff, alike. The jail staff maintains security within the jail, as well as serving as dispatchers to answer telephone, radio, and personal calls for service from our citizens and other law enforcement agencies.
Uniform Patrol
The sheriff's office has uniform patrol deputies who answer calls for service, serve civil processes, subpoenas, criminal warrants, and orders from the Superior, State, Probate, and Magistrate Courts of Jenkins County.
The Courts
We are also charged with the responsibility of the security and safety of Superior Court, State Court, Probate Court, and Magistrate court. The Sheriff and our deputies provide for the safety and security of the various judges of these courts. Civilian bailiffs are also utilized, in a limited capacity, to assist with service of all parties involved in cases which greatly enhances the orderly operation of the courts.
